How copper and copper base alloys such as Tungum can help stop the spread of COVID-19

Recently, the Copper Alliance released a web-post with the International Copper Association's response to COVID-19 with the following information: "Frequently touched surfaces made from copper and copper alloys are naturally antimicrobial and self-sanitizing and can assist in slowing the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, in current and future outbreaks."

Furthermore, The Copper Development Association (CDA) in 2009 carried out clinical trials at Selly Oak Hospital, part of the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust. It concluded that the use of copper alloys, such as Tungum, could reduce the amount of micro organisms contained on them by 90-100% when compared to standard materials.  Click here for the Selly Oak case study.

Use Tungum to help stop the spread of viruses given that Tungum is a copper base alloy with 81% to 84% copper.
