Tungum Tubing ASTM B706 TF00 (UNS C69100) achieves American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) material approval success.

As a result of our recent ASME Section I, VIII, B31.1 & B31.3 Code Case successes, we are very pleased to announce that USCG material approval has also now been granted for Tungum tubing.

The USCG is responsible for the control or the allowance of materials that either sit on, or are connected to equipment in coastal areas under their jurisdiction.

The USCG notes that Tungum tubing (ASTM B706 TF00; UNS C69100) was approved by ASME through Code Cases for use in Section I and Section VIII applications.  The USCG also notes that ASME has initiated work items to incorporate this material into the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes for use in both Section I and Section VIII applications.

As a result of these actions by ASME, this material meets the requirements in Title 46 CFR 56.60-1 and may therefore be available for use in piping systems in this part.
